The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.

This transformational project has brought even more excitement and anticipation to burgeoning Brisbane. It will redefine how people play, shop, and socialise in the river city.

As the Assistant Venue Manager for Sokyo, you will lead a team of Food & Beverage professionals, ensuring that every guest experience is nothing short of extraordinary. Your exceptional attention to detail, impeccable service standards, and unwavering commitment to excellence will set the tone for your team, creating an unforgettable dining experience for our valued guests.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will showcase your food and beverage leadership and customer service skills .

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of wait staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure seamless coordination between the front-of-house and back-of-house operations, maintaining efficient communication and workflow
  • Provide exceptional hospitality and anticipate guests' needs, delivering personalized service that leaves a lasting impression
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Sokyo’s menu, wine list, and dining offerings, ensuring that your team can confidently guide guests through their culinary journey
  • Ensure compliance with the Responsible Service of Alcohol and relevant provisions of the Liquor Act

What are we looking for:

  • Extensive experience in a high-end dining establishment, with a track record of managing and motivating teams to deliver exceptional service
  • A passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for guests
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with guests, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and quality
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service, including menu knowledge, wine pairing, and dining etiquette
  • Accreditation in Responsible Service of Alcohol – RMLV/Approved Manager an advantage

About us

The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.

When complete, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will deliver four new luxury hotels, more than 50 new food and beverage experiences, significant luxury retail, the restoration of nine heritage buildings and around 1,500 residential apartments.
