ACCOUNTS PAYABLE OFFICER

BGW Group of Companies is looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to work as part of Accounts Payable team at our Support Office at Pinkenba .

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Accounts Payable professional to join our team, supporting a national, family-owned business.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Experience working in a large team.
  • Previous experience in an accounts payable role preferred.
  • Wholesale / electrical or plumbing accounts payable experience preferred.
  • Eye for detail and a positive attitude towards a healthy team environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Process and verify supplier invoices related to overhead costs, including utilities, office supplies, insurance, and other general administrative expenses.
  • Ensure all overhead expenses are correctly coded to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of overhead expenses and their corresponding supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and process payments for overhead expenses, ensuring they are paid within terms and on time.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure payments are appropriately authorised before processing.
  • Reconcile daily bank statements against company records, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of overhead accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal departments to clarify and resolve discrepancies or outstanding issues related to overhead costs.
  • Address and resolve vendor queries regarding payments or account issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Monitor and manage shared accounts inbox for multiple BGW companies.
