Housing Growth provide and influence the provision of safe, secure, affordable, and appropriate housing to the people of Queensland, and the building of vibrant and connected precincts and communities in which they live. We influence, plan, design, procure and contract the delivery of contemporary housing solutions that meet the needs of our clients, reflect local community needs, and support jobs in regional Queensland.As Senior Program Officer, you will create a wide range of financial and target delivery reports, summaries of project documentation and guidelines as required. You will require an innovative approach to providing more streamlined reporting protocols and will develop, manage and deliver capital works projects for government within departmental standards, on time and on budget.
What You Will Be Doing
- Establishing, monitoring and maintaining a program of construction and acquisition projects in accordance with department approved budgets and outputs.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining an appropriate reporting database and regime to enable project and program planning and monitoring of target outputs, including the anticipation and informing of future reporting needs.
- Preparing timely and well researched briefings, reports, budgets, submissions, ministerial and departmental correspondence on major operational issues and progress towards targets.
- Regularly reviewing current and future budgets, liaising between the service delivery provider and the finance team to ensure discrepancies are corrected where
- Managing multiple information requests, often at short notice, from various stakeholders and preparing responses, reports and advice in an effective and timely
- Monitoring and analysing trends, outcomes and opportunities to ensure the successful delivery of the HD's Capital Programs.
- Establishing productive working relationships with various business partners and stakeholders to source diverse information required to provide accurate and timely financial and capital delivery reports.
- Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
- Effectively manage new and unexpected events and demonstrate judgement about when to escalate issues.
- Generate and share creative ideas and suggestions for improvement.
- Seek clarity of tasks and know what is expected of you.
- Work collaboratively with others.
- Demonstrate skills in the capital works program area.
