Description:

The Princess Alexandra Hospital, Social Work Department are looking for a Social Worker to join their team. Social workers are attached to a central Social Work Department with its own cost centre. The staff of almost 65 full time equivalents are allocated across five social work teams: Cancer Services, Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation and Aged Care, Critical Care & Trauma, Chronic Disease & Illness, and Rehabilitation and Disability. A Domestic and Family Violence Co-ordinator, Child Protection Liaison Officer, Homeless Liaison Officer, Pathways Team, and a Clinical Educator are also located within the Social Work Department.

About the Role

  • Detailed clinical assessment, patient education, therapeutic intervention and/or management and assistance with discharge planning within an interprofessional context.
  • Clinical education, supervision of observational students and allied health assistants, and assistance with supervision of undergraduate students.
  • Participation and contribution to quality improvement and research activities under the guidance of senior staff.
  • This position reports operationally to the Director of Social Work through the Social Worker Advanced -Clinical Team Leader of the respective clinical team .
