International locations have local finance functions, supported and overseen from the Australian head office.This is a newly created position to support a growing finance team and is an excellent opportunity for a recent university graduate looking to start their career and gain hands-on experience.The role sits within the head office Australian accounting and compliance team. This role offers opportunities for learning and growth to further develop your understanding of accounting and finance.The ideal candidate will have excellent communicate skills, time management and organisational skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude and be driven to make a difference. This is a developmental role and will suit a candidate wanting growth in their career long term.
Job tasks and responsibilitiesAssistance with preparation of P&L and Balance Sheet statements including monthly journal processing, commentary and analysis;Assistance with general ledger Balance Sheet reconciliations and workpapers;Assisting with management, reconciliation and reporting related to Group wide assets;Treasury related tasks including bank reconciliations;Support with the annual Group audit, including assisting with financial statements preparation;Involvement in statutory compliance including, FBT, GST/BAS, income tax compliance and assisting with the annual taxation review;Involvement in tri-annual Stocktake and reconciliations;Administrative tasks as required.
Skills and experienceThe successful applicant will need the following:Recently completed degree in Business, Accounting or Commerce;Relevant work experience in an accounting or finance role is highly desirable;Be looking for a long term career in Finance;CA/CPA partial, or aspiration to commence;Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and an eagerness to learn financial systems;Effective prioritisation and organisation skills;High attention to detail; andExcellent communication skills.
