Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Technical Coordinator , where you'll play a vital role leading a team of Technical Officers to ensure the continued operation of the equipment in the SAE University College studios and equipment available for hire, monitoring WHS, and providing support to the students during practical sessions, in their use of resources and equipment. The Tech Team Coordinator will help ensure the operations are conducted in accordance with the Universities policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Code of Conduct and the WHS policy.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and oversee the campus's cutting-edge film, music, and audio equipment, ensuring all facilities are fully operational and organised.
- Provide technical support and guidance to students during practical sessions, fostering a safe and creative learning environment.
- Monitor and Report Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards, addressing faults promptly and ensuring compliance across facilities.
- Plan and maintain the daily roster of Technical Officers.
- Assistance and support to team of studio technicians to maintain student facilities.
- Report to management issues regarding resources, usage of studios and campus.
- Monitor staff performance within the Tech Team.
- General support in managing and maintaining all campus facilities, including support to the IT department.
- Monitor campus security.
- Contribute to campus activities by supporting promotional events and showcasing the institute's state-of-the-art facilities.
- Collaborate with academic and technical teams to enhance resource availability and improve the student experience.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate can demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:
- Strong technical expertise and industry experience in audio, music production, and/or filmmaking, including proficiency in studio and location equipment, lighting, camera, and grip workflows.
- Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience in audio or a related field, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- A passion for supporting students to reach their potential, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and student support.
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills, a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work evenings as required.
