Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored financial advice to clients, covering areas such as wealth management, superannuation retirement planning, investment strategies, estate planning, aged care planning, and tax-effective strategies.
  • Developing and managing client portfolios to ensure alignment with financial goals and risk tolerance.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with high-net-worth clients, offering them ongoing advice and support.
  • Conducting in-depth client interviews to assess financial situations, needs, and objectives.
  • Monitoring market trends, financial products, and regulatory changes to provide up-to-date advice.
  • Preparing detailed, compliant Statements of Advice (SOA) in line with Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) requirements.
  • Collaborating with other professionals (accountants, legal advisers, estate planners) to ensure holistic advice.
  • Attending networking and industry events to stay connected with the financial planning community and further develop skills and knowledge.
  • Overseeing financial administration tasks, including compliance, document preparation, and client account management.
  • Providing mentoring and leadership to junior advisers and support staff.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of Australian financial regulations, including compliance with the Corporations Act, Financial Planners and Advisers Code of Ethics, and adherence to AFSL standards.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial markets and economic conditions to formulate and adapt strategies.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Ability to support, train, and mentor junior staff.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to offer creative solutions to complex financial problems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in financial planning or advisory roles in Australia.
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Compliance with FASEA (Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority) requirements.
  • Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning or equivalent.
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner) certification or progress towards this is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, superannuation, and estate planning.
  • Ability to prepare compliant and strategic Statements of Advice (SOA).
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals is highly desirable.
