Description:
IT Engineer – Keep Your Skills Sharp, Make a Real ImpactSick of spending half your pay check on rent and wasting hours in traffic? Welcome to Launceston, Tasmania—where you can actually afford a house, enjoy a 10-minute commute, and have a life outside of work.
This isn’t just another IT job. It’s hands-on, varied, and keeps your brain engaged. One day, you're knee-deep in a Hyper-V deployment; the next, you're untangling a DNS issue for someone who thinks the internet runs on magic. You’ll get involved in pre-sales design, project scoping, and the kind of work that keeps your skills razor-sharp.
Why You?
Because you give a damn. Clients trust us to get things right, so you’ll take pride in what you do. Communication is key—you’ll need to explain technical issues clearly, both in writing and face-to-face, without making people feel stupid. If you prefer fixing real problems over box-ticking, you’ll fit right in. In return, you’ll get flexibility, ongoing training, and a team that has your back.
We’re a tight-knit crew of about seven techies who’ve been solving IT problems for over 25 years. No corporate jargon, no meaningless job titles—just solid solutions for businesses that need things to work properly.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and maintaining IT infrastructure that stay up.
- Securing networks with proper firewalls and security protocols.
- Making Microsoft 365 and Azure work the way they should.
- Setting up wireless networks that don’t make people want to cry.
- Spotting risks before they become disasters.
- Keeping systems running smoothly while tackling projects that push your skills.
- Communicating clearly with clients and colleagues to ensure everyone’s on the same page.
What You Need
- 3+ years of IT experience—you know AD, DNS, and Group Policy without Googling it.
- Solid Microsoft Enterprise skills—Servers, 365, Azure.
- Hyper-V or VMware experience (bonus points if you can handle both).
- Hands-on experience with routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and LAN/WAN networks.
- The ability to explain tech to non-tech people without making them feel dumb.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—you can write a clear email and have a conversation without resorting to tech jargon.
- A sharp eye for detail (spot a typo here, and we’ll like you even more).
- You must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency.
