COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
(3 Year Fixed Term Contract)
About the opportunity
Council is seeking to appoint a creative and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Community Development Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to experience, develop or enhance your skills within a community and events focused role.
The position plays a key role in creating a vibrant and inclusive community by delivering community development and wellbeing initiatives, events, and projects. The successful applicant will foster community pride and build capacity through the support and facilitation of community-based volunteers for Council-related projects.
The role will support community organisations to enhance their social capacity, enabling them to manage events successfully. It will also proactively coordinate Council-approved events , ensuring they are inclusive and enjoyable for all community members.
Position Details
This is a part-time position (.6 FTE), classified at Level 5 of the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and the Associated Enterprise Agreement. The salary range for this part-time position is $63,000 - $66,000 per annum, with an immediate start required.
There is potential for this position to be offered as a job share arrangement, providing an opportunity for collaborative teamwork.
About you
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- An understanding of community development, policy and current trends;
- Knowledge or experience in events management;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to plan and coordinate people, activities and resources;
- Experience working with community organisations and service to support equity and access and inclusion within the community;
- Experience in writing funding applications and sourcing sponsorships;
- Strong commitment to customer service;
