Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports. We are currently seeking experienced and motivated PRODUCTION OPERATORS to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Virginia site in South Australia. As a valuable member of our team, this position will play a vital role in the success of our operations.

If you are reliable, energetic and have a passion for agriculture we would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting directly to the Facility Supervisor you will be working in a packing facility environment.

An attractive remuneration package between $65,000 – $85,000 is available to the right candidates. Duties include:

• Operate production machinery, this includes calibrating equipment, monitoring gauges, and adjusting machines as required.
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment start-up and operation.
• Set up cleaning and maintenance schedules to ensure that machines are kept in good working order to avoid problems which will interrupt the production schedules.
• Monitor the production process and carry out basic testing and quality checks.
• Adjust machine controls whilst monitoring the production process to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
• Ensure adequate supplies and materials are available plus assign work to complete orders as needed.
• Adjust machine as required for changeovers, or other varying needs of production.

Supervise, assign duties, and coordinate workers involved in the manual grading of potatoes, onions and carrots, and the operation of the associated machinery.

• Prepare production reports on machinery performance including check weighers.
• General machine cleaning and upkeep is performed as per the Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure work area is kept clean and free of debris, trash, and excess material.
• Perform basic machinery maintenance.
• All other requirements as directed to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

• At least 1-year relevant work experience
• Experience in a food packaging or processing environment.
• Experience in the processing of potato, carrot, and onion products (desirable).
• Experience operating machines, with the ability to resolve minor mechanical problems (desirable).
• Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence.
• High Risk
