Join our Repat Neuro-Behavioural Team as a Allied Health Assistant!
The Repat Neuro-Behavioural Unit (RNBU) at Daw Park's Repat Health Precinct, managed by the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) Older Persons Mental Health Service, offers specialised care for 18 individuals with severe dementia-related behaviours. These unique needs necessitate a non-mainstream approach, with the primary goal of transitioning residents to long-term care through a holistic, person-centred journey. About the role:
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare team in delivering exceptional patient care under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional. Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide compassionate relationship centred care to consumers and carers
- Under instruction from AHP therapist, provide individual and/or group based therapy
- Contributing an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
- Assist in maintaining clinical and patient equipment
- Maintaining therapy related databases and patient documentation
About you:
- Completion or enrolment in Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance, Individual Support, or Certificate 4 in Mental Health, or equivalent (equivalency document available, please ask)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to work flexibly across a range of therapeutic and program related activities, within a multi-disciplinary team
- Clear aptitude for working in a healthcare setting, with older adults
- Ability to work under general direction and direct or remote supervision from Allied Health Professionals,
