The Facilities Operator Maintainer functions a key member of a multi-skilled team to safely and effectively operate and maintain facility infrastructure and systems. The Facilities Operator Maintainer provides a professional service in the execution of technical control, operation, maintenance and configuration of all assigned facility infrastructure systems and equipment. This includes elements of planning, organization, coordination, scheduling, training, mentoring, technical documentation and resource management associated with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the facility.The Facilities Operator Maintainer is responsible for the efficient and timely identification and completion of operational and maintenance work tasks and ensuring high levels of service are maintained. This role also ensures that the facility operational configuration is controlled in a manner that maximizes productivity and equipment reliability.
The Facilities Operator Maintainer is a member of a small team of experienced tradespeople responsible for the supply and distribution of critical primary utilities. Within this team the Facilities Operator Maintainer must contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the implementation of improvement initiatives, refined procedures and technical advances.
This is a Monday-Friday position that works closely with the Facilities Operators and Facilities Maintainers to foster, promote and maintain best-practice standards and enable reliable, consistent and effective delivery of 24/7/365 facility operational support. In the absence of sufficient Facilities Operator resourcing or to address shift coverage requirements, the Facilities Operator Maintainer is called upon to assist in either the execution of key operational configuration taskings, and/or manning of the Facility Control Centre as well as assisting the Facilities operations training coordinator during times of leave. This role is key to the success of the broader O&M team and thus also works closely with all Facilities O&M personnel in the delivery of high-quality facility O&M services to enable the mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and maintain facility infrastructure, systems and equipment.
- Effect the day-to-day operation and maintenance of allocated facility infrastructure, equipment and systems.
- Coordinate and execute configuration changes on assigned facility systems and associated equipment, in line with scheduled and reactive requirements.
- Staff and operate the Facility Control Centre (FCC), to include tracking of real-time site-wide impairment status, resource location and permitting.
- Coordinate and execute rapid and reliable response to abnormal facility operational situations and emergencies; including equipment repair when necessary.
- Effectively liaise and communicate with peers to ensure best-practice standardization, coverage and continuous individual and team improvement.
- Deliver training necessary to develop and maintain the competence of facilities staff.
- Conduct review and analysis of trend data; identifying, recommending, and
- implementing any necessary modifications, expansions and/or additions to relevant standard operating procedures, emergency response plans or maintenance task lists.
- Develop, review and execute primary utility transfer and switching procedures.
- Identify and execute system and equipment preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance and/or repair tasks as required, scheduled or directed.
- Monitor and facilitate the update of technical drawings, panel schedules and equipment operating procedures.
- Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant operational facilities infrastructure, equipment and systems.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing site environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures; complying with applicable Work Health Safety (WHS) Act standards
- Any other reasonable duties as required by the direct line manager or delegate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Personnel are required to be medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role in which they are employed. While much of this role is sedentary in nature, personnel must remain able to safely lift and operate the necessary tools and equipment, enter multiple physically restrictive plant access points and swiftly traverse the distances between them without undue impacts to individual health and wellbeing.
EHS REQUIREMENT

All personnel assigned to work at JDFPG shall be:
