Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
As a Clinical Nurse you will supervise and direct nursing care of registered and enrolled nurses and staff and maintain and improve the standard of nursing care, providing clinical expertise and local leadership to ensure that quality patient care is delivered.
Our Short Stay Unit is a purpose built, state of the art day surgery facility featuring 3 operating theatres and 23 beds. We provide services to a variety of day surgical specialties, including a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit provides a high standard of patient care and recovery for post-surgery/procedures.
The Position
-
Provides supervision and act as a resource to other members of the care team including RNs/ENs/Students and PCAs/PSAs.

Complies with and demonstrates a positive commitment to relevant legislation including but not limited to: Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Code of Conduct; Poisons Act.

Plans, performs, facilitates and evaluates delivery of patient care that is in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Develops and implements quality improvement and risk management programs at SJOHHS. Evaluates outcomes of recommended actions and provides feedback.

Maintains advanced clinical skills and specialty knowledge to ensure the delivery of a high standard of patient care.

Coordinates shifts as required; ensuring allocation of caregivers to patients is based on caregiver skill mix and patient acuity.

Provides leadership in ensuring team nursing / shared patient care is practised.
You will hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with significant recent post-registration experience in Day Surgery, as well as the ability to practice at an advanced level and knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice. Applicants must be available to work a rotating shift roster of AM, PM and ND from Monday to Sunday.
To succeed you will have a commitment to nursing and other clinical projects that are implemented in order to improve patient care, with well developed leadership and communication skills, the ability to supervise, give direction and delegate to the team. You will plan, assess and develop team and individual performance while being able to identify and problem solve including conflict resolution.

Salary : $103,883 to $110,954 (pro rata for part time) per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
