Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital
St John of God Murdoch Hospital are seeking an experienced Perioperative Orthopaedics Clinical Nurse. You will play a critical role in the leadership and management, establishing and maintaining the highest standards of clinical care for your patients within theatre. You will experience different aspects of the entire patient surgical journey which is both exciting and extremely rewarding within a fast pace environment.
At St John of God Murdoch we have 18 main operating theatres, an angio suite, endoscopy unit and Surgicentre. You’ll be exposed to the latest in surgical technology, including robotics, and work with some of the highest calibre surgeons in Australia who are usually based onsite in our consulting suites.
Our Clinical Command Centre is the hub that oils the theatre machine, with information feeding into and out of a central location to co-ordinate patient flow, equipment and available beds in recovery and on the wards. Our super-organised CCC Team know exactly where patients are up to on their theatre journey at all times.
The Position
-
Develop the clinical and professional skills of individual caregivers under your supervision within your theatre/area.

Manage your area, specialty access to, and use of, resources including equipment, consumables and facilities.

Contribute to the wider development of the Department through your leadership of assigned portfolios.

Manage and ensuring compliance with, perioperative clinical care quality and nursing practice standards for all patients, including those under their direct care i.e. in their theatre or departmental area.

Lead your theatre/department team to deliver patient-centred care to all patients (Communication, Connection, Compassion).

Be a senior clinical resource in your theatre, speciality and/or departmental area.

Advocate for patients, protecting their rights and prioritizing their safety at all times.

Contributing specialty input into the development of capital budgets and business plans.

Ensure the respectful use of theatre facilities, maintaining functional operating rooms and resolving issues.

Develop recommendations on products and equipment, evaluating their usage and delivering training and education in their use.

When required, acting as shift coordinator and monitoring staffing levels continuously to ensure appropriate numbers of skills staff are available within the agreed productivity targets.
You will hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
To succeed you will have a minimum of five years' experience with demonstrated strong leadership ability, working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment with well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving.

Salary : $103,883 to $110,954 plus 11.5% superannuation

Permanent part-time position working a minimum of 56 hours per fortnight
