About the project
Iluka’s Eneabba Rare Earth Refinery (ERER) Project is located at Eneabba in Western Australia, around 270km north of Perth. We are delivering Australia’s first fully integrated rare earths refinery, achieving an independent supply of rare earth oxides essential to global electrification and decarbonisation. Our state-of-the-art refinery will feature a total rare earth oxide capacity of 23,000 tonnes p.a, flexibility to process a range of feedstocks and recycling of water and reagents.
About the role
We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our projects team. This is a fixed term, 12-month position based at our Eneabba Project Site on an 8:6 DIDO roster.
The Construction Manager will be assigned to site during the early works period, and the execution phase. The role will include assisting the review of the scope of work, as well as monitoring and controlling the daily activities of contractors to ensure budget and schedule targets are met.
Key elements of the role include:
- Act as Iluka's representative on the construction project site, advocating for the owner's goals in the construction project (Quality, schedule & cost)
- Attend to construction queries during all phases of projects, identifying and raising quality non-conformance from an Iluka perspective during construction and liaising with the Perth based Area Managers and Project Engineers
- Hold regular progress / update meetings with the EPCM’s (Principal Contractor) site management team
- Reviewing the EPCM’s Site Management Plans, layouts, etc to ensure interface are identified and communicated to the SSE
- Liaise with the EPCM’s management team to develop, implement, and maintain the Interoperability Model for the site which governs how various stakeholders interface with each other on site, ensuring regular audits are conducted to assure its effectiveness
- Coordinate regular site alignment sessions involving the Principal Contractor and the Iluka Owners team by ensuring consistent meetings are held and records are maintained
- Daily coordination with Area Manager(s) and the EPCM where there is work interactions
- Supervise and monitor construction activities for the agreed scope outside the EPCM’s control to ensure the work is completed on budget and on time
- Issuing of site work instructions to contractors for the agreed scope outside the EPCM’s control
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary or Trade qualification in Engineering is essential
- Previous demonstrated experience in a major site construction management role
- Significant experience in mining or similar industry
- Knowledge of WA mining approvals legislation and processes
- Experience of being the client/owner's construction representative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and data management skills
- Ability to communicate and influence employees and contractors
- Ability to supervise teams and contracting companies across construction activities
- Current C Class driver’s license
