About the Opportunity
New opportunity for an experienced Supplier Quality Control Technical Officer to join our Supply Quality Control (SQC) team based in Henderson, WA. Reporting to the SQC Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring material compliance and performing technical and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) inspections for incoming goods. This role forms an integral part of our Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) sustainment program, contributing to Australia’s Naval Defence capabilities.
Responsibilities
The position of Technical Officer SQC will be responsible for:
- Forming part of the Supply Quality Control Team to ensure material compliance of all items supplied to ASC from suppliers
- Carrying out receipt inspection and MDR review, ensuring all OQE requirements are satisfied against nominated drawings, TPS, catalogue and purchase orders
- Reporting issues and facilitating resolution in relation to product receipt inspection
- Maintaining records for traceability and review to conformance requirements
- Completing inspections on received purchase orders to satisfy SQC demands
- Assessing and reporting errors of received inventory and/or OQE
- Identify, recommend and actively support/participate in implementing strategies to improve SQC performance, minimise cost and better achieve SQC departmental schedules.
- Assess inspection results against technical requirements /
- Technical standards and promptly assess/ determine corrective action where required.
About you
You will be able to demonstrate
- Preferably a mechanical or electrical trade or engineering qualification
- Experience in a similar role
- Ability to assess results of quality inspections to assure compliance with the specified technical requirements
- A high-level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills,
- Experience in installation, manufacturing and quality control on large scale/complex projects is highly favourable
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with key stakeholders
- Strong abilities within Microsoft Office Suite
- Auditing qualifications and experience (preferred)
- Ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance – NV1 (Confidential).

Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
