The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Cleaning and Sanitation Supervisor for a 6-month fixed-term contract to oversee site hygiene operations. This role is critical in ensuring that our facility meets the highest sanitation, hygiene, and compliance standards in a multi-shift operational environment.
Reporting to the Cleaning and Sanitation Manager, you will lead and coordinate a team to maintain cleanliness and safety, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage cleaning, sanitation, and hygiene operations across the site, primarily during night shifts.
- Lead and develop a team of cleaning personnel, fostering a strong safety and quality culture.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage costs, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Drive performance improvements and meet key KPIs.
- Conduct training and risk assessments to ensure safe work practices.
- Coordinate with other departments to enhance hygiene standards
- Maintain the health and safety of team members by ensuring that all processes are risk assessed with appropriate training programs managed and enforced.
- Responsible for the management of all external and internal hygiene, pest control, and contract cleaning.
- Coordination of waste streams (plastics, paper).
- Management of people (Team Leaders, and Team members).
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- At least 2 years of progressive experience in cleaning and sanitation with supervisory or Team Leader responsibilities, preferably in food processing or manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrated practical experience in cleaning procedures, sanitation chemicals, and food safety regulations.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-risk environment while ensuring compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant reporting systems
