Our Office of Racing is responsible for the oversight of Racing Queensland, and the Queensland legislation that enables the operation of the racing industry in Queensland.

Sport and Recreation supports and encourages participation and success in sport and active recreation through delivery of: grant funding for sport and active recreation organisations and clubs, infrastructure and participation programs, the operation of precincts and venues, and through engaging and partnering with theactive industry across Queensland. Through this investment we want to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders by assisting them to be more active.

Queensland 2019-2029 is the Queensland Government's 10 year strategy to further enrich the Queensland way of life, harnessing the pride of our great sporting traditions, embracing our iconic natural environment and building on our strong community foundations to deliver better health and wellbeing outcomes, especially for those most vulnerable.
Through Accelerate 2022-2025, the second action plan under Activate! Queensland, the department will provide targeted and deliberate action and investment to enrich the Queensland way of life through physical activity, driving increased participation and pathway opportunities while positioning the state for success in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Our focus:
Service Delivery's primary function is to directly connect the agency with our clients and key stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in fostering healthy and connected communities. Through informed advice, effective engagement and efficient delivery of funding programs, we aim to empower individuals and communities to actively participate in sports and recreational activities, regardless of socio-economic factors or geographic location.
Our core functions:
1. Program delivery:
• Overseeing various sport and recreation programs, including the First Nations Sport and Recreation programs, ensuring their effective selection and delivery across Queensland as part of Activate! Queensland 2019-2029.
2. Capacity building and information provision:
• Enhancing the capacity of not-for-profit sport and active recreation organisations, primarily at the local and regional levels through the provision of valuable intelligence to support the strategic goals of the department.
3. Infrastructure:
• Identifying and providing advice on potential infrastructure projects that align with the department's objectives.
• Responsible for the delivery of many infrastructure projects across Queensland.
4. Collaborate and Partner:
• Collaborate with regional stakeholders and sport and recreation organisations across Queensland to create partnerships and deliver programs and projects to contribute to Activate! objectives and deliver outcomes for local communities.
To be eligible for employment to this role you must possess:
• Citizenship/Visa Requirements You must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia. If you are not an Australian citizen you will need to provide evidence of your residency status or visa, with your right to work (including any conditions / restrictions). You are required to notify the department if your right to work in Australia ceases.
• Licences, This role undertakes travel to city, regional and remote locations and requires a current driver's licence. You will need to provide a copy of your driver's licence prior to engagement.
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card), You will need to provide a copy of your blue card, which will be validated prior to engagement.
