Our client, a Federal government department based in Civic, ACT, requires an experienced Solution Architect for a 12 + 12 month contract.
Duties
- Support business and development teams with technical and architectural advice to ensure that all aspects of solution designs are correct and documented.
- Develop and refine the architecture iteratively, incorporating feedback from systems analysts, technical leads and other stakeholders.
- Lead prototyping or PoC to validate architectural decisions and mitigate risks early.
- Plan and manage dependencies to ensure the quality of system integration.
- Conduct code reviews on selected architecturally significant modules to ensure architectural integrity.
- Ensure tests cover architecturally significant scenarios.
- Ensure design and implementation knowledge is documented sufficiently for different stakeholders.
- Identify and report architectural and technical risks, and develop contingency plans.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated 5+ years' experience in the ICT industry, preferably in a variety of technical and architecture roles.
- Demonstrated experience assisting with detailed design, and ensuring alignment of implementation to system architecture.
- Contemporary system design methodologies and patterns (e.g., data pipelines, n-tier architecture, OO-design, micro-services design, devops).
- Highly developed understanding of relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure services, big data, data analytics, contemporary search technologies, databases, high volume message and event driven based transaction processing).
- Demonstrated experience in software development and/or integration of complex data management and analysis solutions.
