The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Performance & Product Costing Specialist .in our F inance Manufacturing team based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
Working closely with our Manufacturing business, you'll be providing key commercial advice to a range of teams (sales and marketing, operations and supply chains) giving you the opportunity to build a trusted and diverse network of key contacts across our business.
A key part of your role is being accountable for the maintenance and ongoing development of the Product Profitability Model (PPM). This is an important analytical too, bespoke to BlueScope that is used to deliver costing and profitability information used for decision making.
You'll also get the chance to work on upcoming projects and strategic business insights for senior leadership groups!

What Will You Do?
As someone who is accurate and thorough in all that they do, you'll be:
- maintaining governance process to ensure the integrity of the costing data in source systems used for profitability analysis
- conducting regular updates and reviews through data reconciliation and interfacing between our sales and operations and finance teams
- supporting the business insights strategy for Manufacturing Finance including the identification and implementation of appropriate value adding digital technologies
- assisting with the delivery of training and development opportunities that will enhance the capabilities of the broader finance team
- identifying profitability improvement opportunities
More About You
As someone who is comfortable with technical detail and enjoys knowing the 'ins and outs" of their Companies product offering while keeping the bigger picture in mind you'll have:
- tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Science, Accounting, Finance)
- demonstrated superior analytical skills across large data sets and analysis tools (i.e. PowerBI)
- strong communication skills - as is evidenced in the way you know what story the data is telling and how to make this meaningful for stakeholders
- an interest in continuous improvement and the application of these principles to business systems
- CA/CPA would be advantageous
