About the role
Mater Education has an exciting opportunity for a Simulation Coordinator to join the team in a permanent full-time position based at South Brisbane.
The Simulation coordinator leads a small team of simulation assistants in providing facility set ups, equipment maintenance and procurement for simulated practice within all Mater Education programs. Working closely with Program Managers, Educators and Education Leads in providing a high level of simulated learning environments and activities for MEL students at all Mater Education sites.
Salary range: $37.08 - $40.56 (OO Level 4) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Simulation Coordinator may be required to work outside of standard business hours and provide offsite delivery - within the local area and statewide from time to time. The main duties of the role will include:
- Coordinate environment and equipment for simulation-based activities
- Maintain records and data bases relating to simulation delivery and resource management including an imprest system and ordering
- Provide orientation to simulation technology and manikins
- Actively contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of simulation-based activities by developing and implementing moulage techniques to enhance simulation learning activities and developing simulation props and resources
- Coordinate simulation assistants to ensure consistency of simulation processes across all Mater Education sites
- Direct management of the simulation assistant team
About you
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Experience in nursing or health related field would be advantageous
- Experience in simulation, stock control and technology required to deliver simulation activities in education environment is highly desirable
- Demonstrates a good level of technical expertise with electronic, audio visual and/or simulation resources
- Ability to manage stock, ordering processes and data base management
- Ability to proficiently operate equipment used in clinical simulation and maintain competence in the operation of simulators, manikins and audio-visual systems to provide unsupervised technical support and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams
- Communication skills in both written and verbal contexts as well as ability to manage client relationships and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
