About the role
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced and passionate Workforce Coordinator to join Mater Private Hospital Townsville. This is a permanent full-time role, based at the Pimlico campus.
The Casual Workforce Unit at Mater Townsville are responsible for managing all workforce functions for Casual Pool employees. This includes advertising, recruitment, onboarding, allocations, roster and leave management and performance management.
Salary: $45.81 - $50.46 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing
This role is designed to work collaboratively within the Nurse Unit Manager and After-Hours Managers to ensure streamlined and efficient recruitment, scheduling, allocation, and rostering of casual nurses throughout the hospital.
- Effectively coordinate the deployment of our casual nursing staff, ensuring appropriate skill matching and coverage across various shifts and departments.
- Collaborate with our HR team to recruit and onboard new casual nursing staff, ensuring all necessary paperwork and clearances are completed.
- Develop and maintain accurate rosters, taking into consideration staff availability, preferences, and skill sets, to ensure a fair and balanced workload distribution.
- Identify staffing deficits and engaging with agency staff and external stakeholders as required
- Regularly assess the performance and attendance of the casual nursing staff, providing feedback and support when needed.
About you
- Prior experience in workforce coordination or a similar role, ideally within the healthcare industry. Previous experience managing nursing staff is highly desirable.
- Ability to plan, develop and maintain rostering and allocation procedures for nursing workforce
- High level communication and liaison skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong quality improvement approach and mindset
- You are a resourceful problem solver, capable of identifying and implementing efficient solutions to staffing challenges.
- You enjoy working collaboratively with others, fostering a positive and supportive work culture.
- You are adaptable and able to respond to changing staffing needs, ensuring appropriate coverage at all times.
