The Research Unit at Townsville University Hospital are seeking three Clinical Nurses to undertake Clinical Research Coordinator roles.

The P-ICECAP Study is a research study looking at whether cooling children’s bodies for longer durations than are used in standard clinical practice can help the brain recover after cardiac arrest.

Ideally seeking applicants with clinical experience in Paediatric Intensive Care.

About the opportunity:

Position: Clinical Nurse (Clinical Research Coordinator)

Vacancy: Casual (Three positions available)

Location: Research Unit, Townsville University Hospital

The key objectives of the Clinical Nurse - Clinical Research Coordinator position is to gather high quality clinical research data and maintain optimum health care to research participants at the standard of practice, in accordance with the National Health Medical and Research Council, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and the International Committee of Harmonisation. The incumbent will contribute to the research team lead by a nominated Principal Investigator, and to develop research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to a specific service group within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS).

  • Salary range: $68.06 to $72.87 p.h. (casual rate) (NG6-1)

Requirements:

  • Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate (or willingness to acquire within 1 month of commencement).
  • Clinical experience in PICU (paediatric intensive care).
  • Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids are required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible (due to prior exposure to the disease and therefore have natural immunity) to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy.
