Your role

Your role as a Senior Business and Benefits Analyst will play a critical role in the continued delivery pipeline for our new Strategy. Through consultation, analysis, design, documentation, and delivery, you ensure that the functional, technical, and conceptual integrity of VMIA's systems and processes are maintained, and the benefits of the new Strategy are fully realised. Your role is crucial in driving the transformation and business performance that aligns with VMIA's vision and goals.

Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Business Analysis, this role is a strategic role that will enable business improvements and benefit analysis. You are committed to solving business problems and supporting business stakeholders by providing insightful analysis to ensure value for VMIA.

What you do

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, focus groups and walk-throughs with the aim of eliciting information, and obtaining validations and approvals.
  • Analyse and improve business processes; identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility and risks, and recommend new approaches.
  • You consult widely, including leading workshops, design, and planning sessions to understand, collect and make sense of complex and competing requirements, to identify how the expectations and benefits from the new Strategy can be delivered
  • You engage with stakeholders up to the senior executive level, including presenting showcases, requirements, and options recommendations in relation to business and project outcomes.
  • You demonstrate thought leadership and lead contemporary project and product delivery practices through the application of design thinking, customer experience principles and agile techniques.
  • Continuously measure and improve client satisfaction by gathering feedback and implementing necessary changes to services and processes.
  • Utilise data analytics to provide actionable insights that can inform decision-making and improve business processes.

Who you work with

You work within the Programs and Projects Office (PPO) alongside Project Managers, Business Analysis, Business Implementation and Change personnel to deliver strategic outcomes across the portfolio.

You partner with a diverse range of stakeholders including executives, senior management, subject matter experts, VMIA's clients and partners to identify and manage complex inter-program dependencies and expectations within programs of work.

About you

  • You are a seasoned Business Analyst with at least 8+ years' experience with a strong analytical ability relating to process optimisation and system implementation including integration.
  • You have a deep understanding of general insurance, including products, lifecycles, technical and digital trends and core insurance system experience.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret a large range of data (including actuarial models) to effectively report on benefits realised, identify key risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • You have proven experience defining, designing, and delivering in digital transformation projects containing multiple project releases across the full project and delivery lifecycle.
  • You are a strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across all levels of an organisation and you demonstrate a high level of attention to detail throughout the project's delivery.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Analysis/Information Systems/Data and Analytics and/or significant proven experience relevant to this role.
  • Professional certifications in project/program management, business analysis and/or agile delivery.
  • Proficient MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Confluence and JIRA.
  • Data and reporting tools – SQL, PowerBI, is desirable
