About the role
Mater Health Brisbane is currently seeking multiple experienced Administration Officers to work within our Ambulatory and Outpatients Department. We are recruiting for our Front Reception and Appointment Management teams at our South Brisbane Campus. These roles will be Administration Officers (MCA2) vacancies across both maximum term and permanent opportunities, full time hours.
Salary range: $31.24 - $36.44 per hour (MCA2) plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing (duties listed include all vacancies, specifics will be advised at interview):
- Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patient and clients
- Providing administrative support to clinical and medical staff
- Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested
- Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined
- Maintaining and meeting multiple KPI’s daily
- Outbound calling to patients to update their demographics, confirm attendance, and address any queries
- Focus on improving patient engagement and implementing strategies to increase response rates for outbound communications
- Cross-training in front of house DPU or Endoscopy roles to provide variety and assist with shift coverage
- Processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges and the preparation of clinical forms
- Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current and accessible files, including maintenance of records of relevant meetings and discussions
- Continually demonstrate highly developed written communication skills including ability to draft routine correspondence on behalf of the senior management
- Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested
About you
The successful candidate will be hard working, enthusiastic and able to show initiative. You will be approachable with a mature and confident attitude, have the ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Experienced in providing medical administration support
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills
- Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
- Ability to be available for all shifts across a 5-day working week between the hours of 6am to 6:00pm
- Advanced IT skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- A positive attitude and approach to work with a commitment to excellent service and accuracy
