About the role
Mater Group are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst in a full time, 9-month max term contract based at Newstead.
Be the driving force in ensuring financial data integrity, governance and process improvements within Mater's finance function. In this role, you will focus on data accuracy, system optimisation and financial controls to enhance reporting, compliance and operational efficiency. Collaborating with finance, procurement and IT teams, you will lead data cleansing initiatives, strengthen governance frameworks, and support system integrations within the ERP system (D365).
Salary range: $105,567 - $114,860 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Identify, review and cleanse inaccurate or inconsistent financial data, ensuring accuracy across vendor records, COA, and fixed asset systems
- Implement standardised processes for validating data, reducing errors, and maintaining data integrity
- Assist in financial system and process optimisation, including COA restructuring and vendor data governance
- Support the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to streamline financial operations
- Develop and maintain documentation for financial data management processes, ensuring clarity and consistency
About you
The successful candidate will ideally have a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field (highly desired).
- 2-4 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably within the finance function
- 2-4 years of experience in a data cleansing or data management role
- Experience supporting transformation or system implementation projects is preferred
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL and data management software
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, D365) and familiarity with data cleansing tools is an advantage
- Understanding of data governance principles, master data management, and data quality frameworks
- Strong financial acumen, leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders to drive financial performance
- Attention to detail in data analysis and quality assurance
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey data quality issues and solutions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in finance, supply chain, and IT to support data cleansing and transformation efforts
