We are seeking a Logistics Analyst to join the National Transport and Logistics team. This role will be pivotal in supporting our SAP freight costing processes and ensuring cost-effective, data-driven decisions are made across our domestic and international freight operations (road, rail, sea, and air).The Logistics Analyst will manage the ongoing cost maintenance within SAP and related systems, enabling the accurate accrual of freight transactions, optimised supplier selection, and compliance with internal commercial requirements. The position will also support interface functionality between SAP and end-users , contributing directly to cost visibility and accountability across the network.

Reporting to the National Transport and Logistics Manager, on a Permanent Full-time basis, at the head office based in Sydney.
As one of the main stakeholders of Compliance for all national Road and Rail operations, to perform ongoing cost updates to SAP for all things domestic and international freight (air/road/rail/shipping), and functionality to support the SAP interface with users to ensure selection of best cost outcomes when selecting freight suppliers.
The main objective of the role is to perform ongoing cost updates to rates by review processes and annual rate reviews, common operator submissions for increased rate adjustments, fuel levies ad CPI increases and to deliver the desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain freight rate tables in SAP and BSM systems to ensure up-to-date and accurate cost records across all freight modes.
- Update master data and rate tables in SAP and third-party TMS systems to support automatic freight rating and transaction accruals.
- Support SAP users by ensuring freight supplier selection aligns with best cost and commercial outcomes .
- Assist in the costing of customer freight to support internal contract pricing and review cycles.
- Evaluate and validate cost changes submitted by carriers including rate reviews, CPI increases, fuel levies, and variable surcharges.
- Support and contribute to RFP analysis, tender preparation, and review of SLAs with transport providers.
- Develop and maintain dashboards/scorecards to assess freight vendor performance and cost recovery across domestic and international transport operations.
- Actively identify, track and resolve freight-related cost anomalies through SAP reporting and financial reconciliation processes.
Key Competencies and Experience Required
- Strong financial acumen and commercial analysis skills with the ability to interpret freight-related cost data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience working within SAP (preferably S4 HANA) , particularly in a costing, freight, or supply chain finance module.
- Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain , Logistics , Commerce , Accounting , or a related field; or equivalent industry experience.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international freight cost structures, incoterms, and carrier pricing mechanisms.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel , including data analysis and dashboard development.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, particularly with finance, logistics, and commercial teams.
- Excellent communication skills; written and verbal - and the ability to present data in a clear, meaningful way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- High level of time management and organisational capability to handle changing priorities and multiple work streams.
