About the role
Mater is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Billing Officer to join the Private Revenue and Information Management team. This is a permanent, part-time role working 15 hours per week based at the Mater Private Townsville Hospital.
In this role you will process patient accounts and payments efficiently and effectively to ensure optimal revenue generation.
Salary range: $45.81 - $50.46 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Accurate billing of patients, health funds and other third-party insurers according to relevant Health Fund Contracts to ensure maximum revenue is obtained
- Process accounts and assist with the resolution of account queries for patients and Health Funds
- Manage eclipse rejections and billing errors
- Manage requests and follow up of certification and other documentation required for health fund billing
- Follow up of outstanding debt
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients at all times
About you
- Previous experience of working in a health-related environment, particularly in the area of health fund contracts, debt collection or patient billing
- Extensive knowledge of CMBS numbers and prosthesis items
- Knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of the terms and conditions of health fund contracts
- Excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills
- Ability to have complex financial conversations with patients in a sensitive manner
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and also work unsupervised
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
