How you will make an impact
As the Engineering Project Support Manager, you will support the Engineering team in building projects with effective and appropriate planning, information sharing, contractor management and collaboration with Capital projects, ensuring works are undertaken in line with industry best practices.
Reporting into the Chief Engineer, the primary focus of this role is to ensure that specifications, plans, maintenance and system management of building project works are integrated with current infrastructure, Engineering systems and ongoing maintenance management.
This role would suit a Facilities Manager who enjoys projects and perhaps want to do more than the mundane maintenance side of their role, or a dedicated projects manager or assistant looking to move away from the contracting side and more into the client side of projects management.
This position is permanent FT, Mon-Fri. The role is mainly Malvern based, however, travel to our other sites may be required from time to time.
Key responsibilities will include:

Providing daily support to Capital and Engineering projects on site to builders, sub-contractors and maintaining effective communication between Engineering management and Project management and staff

Ensuring that relevant operational and/or maintenance work meets current Occupational Health and Safety, and Plant Safety requirements

Ensuring that only suitably qualified or trained staff or contractors undertake work that complies with Cabrini WHS requirements

Ensuring staff and relevant contractors are compliant with the use of the whole of life asset management system (Service Manager)

Ensuring smooth design, implementation, commissioning, handover and training for Capital and Engineering projects

Providing support and review of the specifications and documentation for building projects to ensure best value and quality, compliance with Engineering requirements and seamless transition from builders to maintenance team
About you
You will possess technical acumen with the ability to troubleshoot on a variety of tasks and you will also need to have the following:

Mechanical/Air Conditioning or Electrical trade or Tertiary qualification and/or experience in a similar position, ideally in healthcare, educational, hospitality type environment (client or contractor side)

Experience in operational management, problem solving and planning

Engineering design experience, knowledge of engineering principles and principles surrounding Building Codes of Australia

Detailed understanding of facilities management related to complex sites, Australian building regulations, accreditation standards and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

Highly developed communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to collaborate and ensure strong relationships with stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate technical concepts to relevant management personnel

Ability to review, and evaluate and interpret multidisciplinary engineering diagrams, plans and drawings
-
Strong computer literacy across Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly, e.g. departmental building maintenance system

Valid Victorian Drivers licence
