The role


A fixed term position, part-time position is now available for an experienced Visual Arts Teacher. The role is a parental leave position available from the end of May for the remainder of the school year (5 December 2025).


The successful candidate will have:



  • The desire to teach in an environment where both Christian values and academic excellence are emphasised
  • Passionate about teaching the Primary generation
  • Relevant qualifications with VIT registration and commitment to professional learning
  • Proven record of field-work experience and/or relevant tertiary qualifications

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assess students' skills to design a flexible, personalised curriculum that addresses their unique needs and goals.
  • Designing and delivering engaging art lessons that align with the curriculum.
  • Teaching various artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media.
  • Encouraging students to explore their creativity and develop their unique artistic styles.
  • Integrating art history, theory, and contemporary practices into lessons.
  • Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback.

Skills and Experience:



  • Proven experience teaching PYP to students.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering both academic and personal growth in students.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex design concepts and engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Dedicated to ongoing professional development, staying current with trends in Humanities and maintaining a proactive approach to teaching.

Qualifications, attributes & ethos



  • VIT Registration.
  • Strong commitment to Christian values and the mission of CREST Education.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferably experienced in teaching the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme and/or or be committed to a concept-driven, structured-inquiry approach to teaching
  • Competent using ICT as a tool in the classroom
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
