Hillcrest Christian College, established in 1981, operates from Early Learning to VCE levels, including VCE mainstream, VCE IB and VCE VM. The role
A 1-year fixed term position working full-time within our Hillcrest Primary campus is now available for an experienced Teacher. The role commences from term 3, 2025 to the end of term 2, 2026.
The successful candidate will have:
- The desire to teach in an environment where both Christian values and academic excellence are emphasised
- Passionate about teaching the Primary generation
- Relevant qualifications with VIT registration and commitment to professional learning
- Proven record of field-work experience and/or relevant tertiary qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Use data and observations to tailor instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement.
- Support the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students in alignment with school values.
- Implement classroom management strategies that promote respectful and responsible behaviour.
- Identify and support students with learning challenges or additional needs, working closely with Learning Support teams.
- Encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking in students.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about student progress, achievements, and concerns.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan lessons, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum development.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, extracurricular activities, and pastoral care programs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to improve teaching effectiveness.
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering both academic and personal growth in students.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex design concepts and engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Dedicated to ongoing professional development maintaining a proactive approach to teaching.
