Corps is a community-focused church, partnering with the wider community to help transform one life at a time with the love of Jesus. This is achieved through Sunday Worship Services, Community Support and Emergency Relief, Thrift Shop engagement, and small groups.


About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Community Engagement and PLP Coordinator, at our Dee Why location. Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time position offering 10 hours per week. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 2.

You will successfully
  • Foster and promote a welcoming, supportive and wholly inclusive community culture where families and youth attending TSA Dee Why Corps activities feel valued, connected, and supported.

  • Facilitate connections between individuals, the broader community, and the mission of TSA.

  • Engage in communication and collaboration with key local agencies and services to strengthen TSA’s presence and provide referral pathways.

  • Coordinate community support initiatives (e.g., food pantry, Salvos Connect site, and emergency relief) in response to identified needs, as agreed in consultation with the Corps Officer/Ministry Team.

  • Schedule, prepare, and facilitate the PLP program in accordance with program guidelines.

You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)
  • Qualification in Community Services Cert IV or similar.

  • Previous Experience in either community services or Chaplaincy is desirable

  • Working knowledge and experience in facilitating Positive Lifestyle Program

  • Professional development required to maintain skills for the role

  • Willingness and availability to work additional hours as required during peak periods to support Red Shield Appeal and Christmas Cheer initiatives

  • Hold current Working with Children Check NSW

  • Mandatory National Police Check

  • Valid driver’s license
