Description:
The role required to be filled is relatively flexible depending upon your chosen field of expertise or areas of interest. Initially you would be expected to work under direction in any of the following fields, with a view to become self-managed in the longer term.
- Soil and wastewater analysis and interpretation
- Land Capability Assessments for onsite wastewater management
- Agricultural and Environmental guidance on sustainable recycled water irrigation
- Scientific investigations and report writing
- Effluent and Irrigation system design
- Soil assessment and land remediation strategies
- Agricultural Impact Assessments
Subject to successful implementation of the above, there is potential for future expansion of the role in the longer term into the following:
- One to one dairy and beef farm consulting
- Discussion group facilitation
- Financial analysis, budgeting and gross margin analysis
- Whole ffarm planning and mapping
- Dairy effluent and nutrient management plans
- Independent agronomic advice
Qualifications and Experience
- Agricultural Science Degree
- No prior experience required but may be considered an advantage
- Looking for a self-motivated person who is prepared to challenge and improve themselves
- Need to have an enquiring mind with the ability to laterally and problem solve
- Must be able to manage own time and work arrangements
- Ideally, we want you to be prepared to commit to a career in consulting
- Evidence of work ethic, report writing and people skills will rate highly
- Sense of humor considered essential
