The Opportunity
Mudgee Brewing Co' is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our passionate culinary team in Mudgee, NSW. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the overall management and daily operations of the kitchen
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure the highest standards of food preparation and presentation
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items, ensuring they align with the restaurant's culinary vision
- Maintain strict control over food costs, wastage, and inventory management
- Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with all relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the kitchen team
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-quality restaurant or hotel kitchen
- Strong technical cooking skills and a passion for creating innovative, flavoursome dishes
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Proven track record of leading and motivating a team of chefs and kitchen staff
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding high food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with the front-of-house team
