About the role
Newey's Drive-Thru Cleaners & Commercial Laundry is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our team in Orange, NSW. As a casual employee, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all our dry cleaning & laundry machinery. This includes the response to breakdowns as and when they happen;
What you'll be doing
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all equipment on site
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks on our dry cleaning and laundry equipment and facilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with our cleaning machinery and infrastructure
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance to keep our operations running efficiently
- Call on and work alongside tradespeople when required
- Liaise with management to identify and address any maintenance concerns proactively
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment as needed
- Ensure the work area and site grounds are kept clean
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Handyman or in a similar role
- Experience with machinery maintenance and small equipment repairs
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve maintenance issues
- Proficiency in the use of common hand and power tools
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Not essential but experience with gas, steam and electrical machinery would be excellent
- Flexibility to work a casual schedule, including call outs when needed to repair machinery promptly
