About the Role:AWX are seeking a Farm Hand to join a research team in Toowoomba. This role supports vital horticultural and cropping research projects, playing a key part in agricultural innovation. This is a casual full-time ongoing contract until 30 September 2025, possibly to be extended.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily farm operations, ensuring efficient trial support and asset/resource maintenance.
- Work independently and within a small team under the direction of the Supervisor and Facility Manager.
- Conduct agronomic activities such as land preparation, irrigation setup and operation, planting, harvesting, weeding, and chemical application.
- Operate and maintain specialised agricultural equipment, including GPS-guided tractors, plot harvesters, planters, and spray equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, premises, and field trial sites.
- Contribute to research projects by maintaining strict adherence to scientific protocols and quality assurance standards.
About You:
- Experienced in agricultural operations and farm machinery.
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to research integrity.
- Understanding of safe work practices in an agricultural setting.
