Job Description Summary
The EHS Leader will ensure compliance to Employer's H&S Policy apart from developing and driving implementation of Consortium H&S Management Plan, Emergency Response Plan with the H&S Office (SHO) for Scope of Works under the contract for Project & Services. Requires interaction with senior management within the customer organization as well as consortium and its parent organization as well as all functional levels, in order to safe & healthy work environment for all working or visiting site.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Development of local Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards, programs and tools including EHS Management Plan
- Implementation of established EHS programs and tools.
- Monitoring of EHS KPI and results
- Participating as needed in audits and reviews to meet company and country compliance/regulatory requirements
- Identify and conduct training requirements of employees and contractors
- Ensuring that EHS training are performed to employees and Partner/contractors according to company policy
- Ensuring that EHS Procedures are available and are applied during the Site activities
- Identifying Client/partner/Contractor procedures that are used during the Site activities. Identify gaps between them and GE standards, and propose actions to minimize those gaps incoordination to the Regional EHS Manager
- Implement of the EHS ITO Process and contributor in all bid phases, by analyzing the Terms & Condition's and contracts of GE and customers, in order to identify EHS and security risks for GE and propose some mitigation language inside GE and customer contracts to ensure compliance.

- Identify EHS cost during ITO phase in order to integrate Cost in the Project (OTR)
- Scheduling record and secure Safety Documentation (training, qualifications, material certification (crane, scaffolding, ...) and providing feedback to Region EHS Manager
- Following up the EHS Cost of the project providing information to Site Installation Manager &Project Director
- Compliance with requirement of Employer's / Contractor's Health and Safety Policy, stringent of the two.
- Ensure Implementation and management of the Contractor's Health and Safety Management Plan
- Ensure Implementation and management of the Contractor's Emergency Planning and Response Plan
- Health and safety training and audits
- Attendance at monthly progress meetings
- Accountability for compliance to Employer's H&S Policy
- Responsible for development and implementation of Health & Safety Management Plan and Emergency Response Plan.
- Responsible for Nonconformance Management within the Organization and with Customer at site
- Represent consortium partner for carrying H&S audits for compliance to H&SMP & ERP.
In addition you will also be responsible for:
- Providing inputs to Site Environmental Health Safety (EHS) management and / or site management on various EHS issues
- Identifying EHS regulatory requirements, understand applicability, and drive gap closure plans
- Carrying out continuous inspections of the site areas, treat and report any discrepancy.
- Act immediately on unsafe acts and conditions observed at site
- Ensure employees are provided with information, instruction and training to follow safe methods of work.
- Implementation of EHS management system (ISO:14001 & OHSAS:18001) and Framework to ensure EHS compliance
- Implementation of the site EHS training program by providing EHS inductions and supporting Tool Box Trainings.
- Coordinating and controlling activities with respect to EHS, especially wherever interfaces between subcontractors are identified
- Ensuring compliance of site activities with the Project Specific EHS Plan, guidelines and work instructions.
- Support compliance with the site disciplinary procedure and zero tolerance policy.
- Contribute to the implementation of the site incentive scheme.
- Provide support and advice to site personnel so as to prevent injury to personnel, damage to plant and equipment, fire.
- Advise the site personnel on EHS requirements applicable to the site activities. Coordinate activities with the Site EHS Manager, ensuring that EHS requirements are implemented
- Contribute to the suitable reporting of EHS issues by actively interacting with the site personnel on EHS matters and by providing the necessary support in addressing such issues.
- Lead by example in complying with the site EHS rules.
- To intervene whenever site activities to not meet the established EHS requirements of the risk assessment / method statement.
- To stop any activity whenever there is an immediate danger.
- Support the follow-up and update of the Business Management Plan
- Coordinate closely with the Field organization and PT APAC SER Field Leader safety operational actions (from the EHS heat map, Gemba, HSV inspection, etc.)
Desired Characteristics
- Strong proficiency in English language - both oral and written
- Strong, self-directed, collaborative team player with interpersonal and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan and execute internal GE programs and industrial EHS approved practices.
- Ability to influence, motivate and engage team towards a work culture built around a safe working and healthy working environment.
- Ability to read, analyse Safety Regulations and make application at Project and Services workplace.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and make quick and sound decisions in emergency response situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications (i.e. Excel, Words, Powerpoint etc.)
