We are seeking a Safety, Risk and Wellbeing Manager to champion workplace safety, risk governance, and wellbeing initiatives across our national operations. This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity to embed a safety-first culture and influence best practices in a fast-growing organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of People, Culture & Safety, you will be responsible for:
✅ Safety Leadership & Compliance
- Implement and continuously improve WHS policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with national and state safety legislation (e.g., WHS Act, Safe Work Australia codes).
- Conduct regular WHS audits, risk assessments, and site inspections.
- Oversee incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Deliver engaging safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
✅ Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies, especially in construction and development projects.
- Ensure contractor safety compliance and manage external safety providers.
- Oversee environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance in development projects.
- Work closely with project managers to integrate safety risk assessments into planning and execution.
✅ Governance & Regulatory Compliance
- Act as a key contributor to Eureka’s Corporate Risk Framework.
- Provide regular safety performance reporting to senior leadership and the Board.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 45001 and workplace injury compensation schemes.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
✅ Continuous Improvement & Strategy
- Lead the development of Eureka’s safety and risk strategy aligned with industry best practices.
- Implement innovative safety technologies, including digital reporting tools.
- Conduct regular risk reviews and emergency response planning.
Travel Requirements
This role will involve regular travel to Eureka’s communities across Australia to conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and training sessions. A valid driver’s licence and flexibility to travel as required are essential.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced safety leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving cultural change in workplace safety.
You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in safety, risk, or compliance roles—preferably in property, construction, or corporate safety environments.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, risk management frameworks, and ISO 45001.
- Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and compliance reporting.
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, drive change, and embed a strong safety culture.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to develop high-quality policies and training programs.
- Proficiency in safety and risk management software tools.
