This is an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Human Resource professional to join and lead a multidisciplinary team supporting front line leaders and workers providing primary health care to our community.

This is an interesting and varied role operating in a dynamic organisation. The QAS is accountable for the delivery of pre-hospital ambulance response services, emergency and non-emergency pre-hospital patient care and transport services, inter-facility ambulance transport, casualty room services, and planning and coordination of multi-casualty incidents and disasters.

You will work across and lead a wide range of human resource functions including recruitment and selection, establishment management, performance management, employee relations, employment conditions, payroll, absence management, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination, reporting, and organisational change initiatives.

  • Well-developed leadership skills and demonstrated capabilities and experience in managing, coordinating and delivering contemporary, best practice HR and workplace health and safety services in an environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing HR management, workplace health and safety and workers' compensation in Queensland.
  • Proven ability to provide authoritative advice and expertise to management in order to achieve HR and workplace health and safety performance excellence.
  • Success in the development and implementation of practical, efficient and effective governance arrangements in respect to a range of HR and workplace health and safety functions.
  • Demonstrated well developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills and the proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to report and interpret performance data to drive performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to implement practices which promote a fair and ethical workplace, employment equity, cultural diversity and occupational health and safety.
