Transport And Logistics Manager

Oreco Group
Bundaberg Full-day Full-time

Description:

Oreco Group have an immediate opportunity for a Transport & Logistics Manager to join our busy manufacturing facility in Childers, Queensland.

Oreco Group is a 100% Australian owned and operated business with over 40 years of experience in agricultural and horticultural manufacturing. We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager, with a long-term vision to lead our Transport & Logistics operations.

The role will see you scheduling and maintaining our fleet of trucks and trailers, overseeing the load configurations, overall compliance and COR, as well as most importantly looking after our dedicated drivers and logistics teams. You will need to have a solid focus on the efficiency and best utilisation of our resources.

You will work both independently and within a team, to diligently plan, organise and carry out logistics activities that will assist Oreco Group to meet our targets, and make the most out of our fleet of trucks. This is a somewhat autonomous role, where you need to be comfortable with making decisions. You will also need to be confident in managing a logistics team of drivers, operators, and coordinators.

This position will suit you if you have great organisation, management, and communication abilities, combined with fleet management and/or logistics coordination experience (predominantly with palletised bulky stock). You need to be self-directed and have problem-solving skills.

You will be fully trained on how to use our systems (Deputy, iFuel, DynaFleet and NetSuite) to help with your reporting and scheduling. Once you have learnt these, you will have the flexibility to implement new procedures and systems to improve the smooth running of the logistics side of the business.

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Coordinating our fleet of trucks, maintenance, and driver operators.

  • Scheduling drivers and operators to ensure COR is always adhered to with full utilization of resources.

  • Maintaining a positive relationship with freight providers.

  • Ensure all staff undergo full induction and training requirements, assist with staff development, and promote initiative.

  • Planning and organizing trucks and trucking schedules to enable consolidation of loads to maximize vehicle usage.

  • Coordinating outbound logistics processes to ensure quality checks are completed, procedures are followed, and records maintained.

  • Managing the team to ensure weight limits and freight packing requirements are strictly adhered to.

  • Maintaining certifications and assisting with audits - Mass Management and BFM.

  • Overseeing our Diesel and AdBlue usage.

The core requirements for this role include:

  • Prior logistics operations and/or fleet management experience.

  • Great planning, coordination, and computer skills.

  • In depth truck, trailer, and maintenance knowledge.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • A positive disposition and a genuine care factor.

  • Chain of Responsibility knowledge and experience, including BFM and Mass Management.

  • A keen eye for detail, efficiencies, and opportunities; and implementing them!

  • The ability to lead a diverse team.

  • Current C-Class Driver’s License.

  • A current MC or HR License will be viewed favorably.
