Our Addictions services provides support for those affected by alcohol, drug and gambling addictions across Tasmania. Our services provide support not just to those who are experiencing problem behaviours, but also for those directly impacted such as friends and families.
About the Role:
The Practitioner – Health & Wellbeing (Alcohol & Other Drugs) provides professional and exceptional community support services to clientele accessing Health and Wellbeing – Addiction services provided by Anglicare in line with Anglicare’s Practice Principles and Framework of Practice.
To be successful you will have:
- An understanding of the processes people utilise to overcome adversity/distress arising from life challenges.
- An ability to recognise and understand people’s intrinsic resourcefulness.
- Provide support in a manner consistent with Anglicare’s values and practice principles.
- Demonstrate high level of communication and interpersonal skills with people who access our services, family/carers, colleagues, other service providers and stakeholders.
- Ability to accurately document and maintain records.
- Demonstrated experience with relevant information and communication technologies.
- Ability to work autonomously within organisational policy and procedure.
- A high level of professionalism and a willingness to develop and reflect on professional practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of current best practice in supporting people with a range of social issues including children, young people and their families.
- Relevant degree level qualifications (Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health), or essentially required accreditation from a recognised institution.
- Demonstrated experience providing support to people facing adversity and challenges in their lives.

The successful applicant will be required to:
- provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check
- present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- provide a satisfactory Anglicare-assessed medical:
- provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver’s Licence.
On commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
