We are now seeking Health & Safety Advisors to join our highly engaged and dynamic team within our Leonora and Laverton Operations in Western Australia.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent on-site, you will provide Workplace Health and Safety advice and support to the Leonora or Laverton Operations site and contractor partners. This opportunity is a permanent, FIFO role on a balanced 8 days on, 6 days off, roster cycle, flying on company time to and from Perth. You also have the option to DIDO from Kalgoorlie.
The Opportunity:

  • Supports the application of the Health and Safety Management System at Leonora/Laverton Operations, ensuring compliance and assisting with system improvements where required.
  • Assists in applying legislative health and safety requirements across all Leonora/Laverton Operations sites.
  • Supports operational leadership and contractor safety leadership development.
  • Implements and supports Fatality Risk Management program requirements, actively verifying control effectiveness and promoting workforce engagement in fatality prevention.
  • Conducts inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Supports the development, review, and implementation of health and safety management plans, procedures, compliance matrices, and site risk registers.
  • Provides in-field leadership through coaching, supporting, and influencing line supervisors on the use of safety tools and standards, including risk management, event reporting, and management of change.
  • Facilitates and supports incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action development, and continuous improvement reviews.
  • Maintains the HSE reporting system, ensuring data integrity and quality assurance.
  • Assists with the coordination and management of health and occupational hygiene exposure monitoring programs, including noise, dust, diesel particulate, and water exposure monitoring.
  • Ensures accurate collection, storage, and interpretation of reliable health and safety data.
  • Assists in identifying trends from accidents, incidents, and audits to advise management on key areas for improvement.
  • Maintains a visible on-site presence to engage with the workforce and support day-to-day WHS requests.

We're excited to hear from you if you have:

  • Safety Advisory underground mining or surface mining experience in a similar role
  • Certificate 4 in Work, Health and Safety or higher qualification
  • Cert 4 Training and Assessment
  • Incident investigation qualification (ICAM, Tap Root or similar).
  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements of the role.
  • Demonstrated high level of computer literacy (our systems include MS Office, Pronto, INX, HSE management systems and Chem Alert).
  • Lead Auditor qualification.
