Our client is seeking a Senior Work Health & Quality Advisor on a 12-month fixed term basis, with the view to go permanent.The Senior Work Health & Quality Advisor is responsible for ensuring workplace health, safety, and compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and industry standards. This role involves providing expert guidance, developing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture within the organisation.
Scope includes: regional contractors, housing, utilities, water, HV/LV, confined spaces.

Key Responsibilities
WHS Compliance & GovernanceEnsure compliance with WHS legislation, regulations, and industry standards.Develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies, procedures, and management systems.Monitor changes in WHS laws and update policies accordingly.Conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards. Risk Management & Incident InvestigationIdentify and assess workplace hazards, implementing effective risk control measures.Lead and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.Maintain and review incident reports, ensuring timely resolution of safety issues. Training & Safety Culture DevelopmentDevelop and deliver WHS training programs for employees and management.Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement initiatives and communication.Provide coaching and mentoring to employees on best safety practices. Reporting & Continuous ImprovementPrepare WHS performance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.Analyse trends in incidents and near-misses, recommending improvements.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety. Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with leadership, employees, and external regulatory bodies.Support workplace health and wellbeing programs.Represent the organisation in WHS audits, meetings, and industry forums.
What Will Make You a Good Fit
Diploma or Degree in WHS, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.Demonstrated experience in a WHS/Q advisory role, preferably in high-risk industries.Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and incident investigation.Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, 95001 systems.Willing and able to undertake occasional travel to site, as required.(Desirable) Stakeholder engagement with indigenous communities.
