Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital

You will support the Manager of Catering Services to provide an exceptional guest experience within the conference centre. The role contributes to the development and implementation of service and product innovation and at all times is responsible for optimising the commercial return to the organisation.

You will assist with the delivery of effective internal and external events aimed at current and future Specialists, patients, caregivers, GPs, other stakeholders and the broader community in line with the Hospitals relevant strategies focused on specific outcomes.

The Position

  • Manage the delivery of internal and external events to engage and entertain Specialists, consumers, caregivers, GPs, community and other key stakeholders.

  • Assist with the management and delivery of other Business and Service Development directorate event and engagement requirements.

  • Liaise and communicate with executive assistants and other key stakeholders within the organization to understand requirements and expectations.

  • Develop and maintain a team culture of service excellence and commercially sustainable guest services.

  • Provide proactive support to other event organisers ensuring seamless service delivery.

  • Coordinate and communicate with the catering services team for all food and beverage requirements.

  • Assist and coordinate the setup of functions as per customer requirements, ensure all equipment is returned and correctly stored away.

  • Manage and coordinate all assets within the conferencing center to ensure all equipment is in good working order.

  • Manage, roster and coordinate conferencing assistants as needed for internal functions.

  • Manage and coordinate service providers for all events and external functions.

  • Ensure that high standard of service for functions and catering requests are maintained.

  • Monitor compliance and ensure all services procedures and processes adhere to SJG standards, policies and statutory requirements.

  • Assist the catering manager with administration tasks as needed.

  • Managing and coordinate the end of month financial procedures and report.

You will have demonstrated experience in hospitality assisting with events and conferencing operations with proven organizational skills and the ability to provide leadership, set priorities and meet multiple deadlines.

Sound communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal, with the ability to provide a high level of professional customer service to our general public, patients and workforce will be essential to the role.

You will have strong evidence of role modelling attentive and engaging behaviours with team and guests, in order to drive sales, with well-developed computer skills and a good working knowledge of a range of MS Office software packages and systems.

To succeed you will hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate with extensive experience in delivering coffee training and coffee equipment preventative maintenance including daily calibration, with previous hands on food production experience.

Cert IV in hospitality or retail will be highly regarded.

  • Salary : $76,387 to $82,250, plus 11.5% superannuation

  • A permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week
