As a DTS Service Technician you will play a vital role in supporting both patients and hospital employees in the use of various technologies, across Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH), satellite locations such as FSH Medihotel and FSH Cockburn Mental Health facility, and also at Fremantle Hospital.


Our Audio Visual (AV) service provides AV equipment for the hospital to support videoconferencing, telemedicine, teaching and training, conference rooms and clinical spaces.
Our Patient Entertainment System (PES) is an integrated bedside device which provides entertainment, information and communication facilities to the patient.
Our Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) provide autonomous transportation services to the linen, supplies and supports other FM operational activities.
In addition, you will be part of a team tasked with the providing support to the Hospital’ s Electronic Key Management System, TopCat Auditing tool, and various other small systems.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Set up and control portable and fixed audio-visual equipment.
  • Assist the Systems Administrator and Senior Technician with service upgrades, modifications and patches, including testing and recommissioning.
  • Proactively monitor DTS managed services and initiate investigation of alerts raised on monitoring systems.
  • Troubleshoot system errors, providing level 1 and 2 support, and raising fault reports/work orders to initiate third party repairs.
  • Attend reactive callouts to patient rooms, clinical spaces, and meeting rooms, interacting with patients, clinicians, and other Hospital Users.
  • Contributing to the wider DTS team’s objectives for the locations we provide service to, including Fremantle Hospital, FSH Medihotel, and FSH Cockburn Health campuses.

You bring proven expertise in customer liaison and interactions, with a strong commitment to resolving customer issues. You are skilled in technical problem-solving, coupled with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet operational goals.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Knowledge of digital and high-definition AV systems, including meeting room equipment and MS Teams conferencing.
  • Knowledge in media/content platforms, (Video Asset Management-Content Management Systems). A working knowledge of IPTV, video codecs, encoding/transcoding, video file formats aspect ratios and understanding of file-based workflows.
  • High level computer skills, digital media, web and editing experience would be highly regarded.
  • Hands-on experience installing and replacing electronic components and performing minor repairs such as soldering would be highly regarded.
  • Troubleshooting skills and understanding of system schematics and operation manuals.
  • Experience working with professional audio-visual systems, video conferencing or patient entertainment systems.

Desirable

  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist
  • Crestron accreditation or experience with third party control systems
  • Familiarity with ICT Networked Audio-Visual Systems.
  • ITIL Certifications
