Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of approved clinical trials at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
The Position
-
Co-ordinate all aspects of oncology clinical trials
-
Work with the Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator and Principle Investigator to ensure that all preparations required for the commencement of the clinical trial are complete and compliant with the relevant guidelines.

Liaise with other relevant health professionals involved in the treatment/care of the patient to ensure safe practice in accordance with the trial protocol.

Provide educative information for clients and families related to the clients disease, the trial protocol and associated treatments.

Develop care plans and schedules for patients.

Coordinate monitoring visits and ensure all aspects of trial treatment, information, collection of specimens, and recording of data are managed according to the relevant guidelines.

Identify any deviation in care protocol, and ensure the appropriate remedial action and reporting.

Represent the Murdoch Oncology Clinical Trial Unit at national and international investigator meetings as requested.

Undertake clinical procedures related to the trial, which may include, routine observations, collection, labelling, storage and shipment of body substance samples, ensuring compliance with trial protocol and associated research & organisational guidelines.

Respond to and report any patient adverse events to the relevant clinician and/or regulatory bodies, in accordance with trial protocol and service provider procedure.

Implement and oversee the collection, verification and recording of all trial related data in accordance with the trial protocol and relevant research & organisational guidelines.

Ensure compliance with all protocols related to the management of patient information in accordance with GCP guidelines and privacy protocols at each service provider across all sites.
You will have demonstrated practical experience in coordinating hospital-based sponsored clinical trials with an understanding of and ability to apply occupational health and safety principles to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace.
You will work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team. With strong communication and interpersonal skills you will also hold clear concise written and verbal communication. You will have the ability to facilitate information to patient groups. Possession of excellent time management skills, ability to manage conflicting priorities and to work using own initiative will be essential to the role.
To succeed you will hold a degree or equivalent in health or health-related discipline. You will have working knowledge of local ethics and governance requirements for clinical research, and other statutory and regulatory requirements including comprehensive understanding of ICH GCP Guidelines with proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software Applications.

Salary: $85,973 to $101,630, plus 11.5% superannuation
