The role is being offered in a Temporary Part-time capacity (0.6FTE), 7.15 standard hours a day and 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)

This is a TO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of TO2 to TO3 classification range.

About Logan City Special School

Our school is located directly opposite the Logan City Council offices and the Logan Entertainment Centre. These are both significant landmarks within Logan City.

The school is also located between Woodridge State Primary School and Woodridge State Secondary School. Together we make a corridor of educational excellence in the local community. Our school is easily accessed via train (adjacent to Woodridge Station) and also by bus.

Your Opportunity

As the School Technical Officer you will assist in managing the operation of a school's information and communication technology (ICT) network services in order to contribute to the enhancement of student learning opportunities.

The School Technical Officer reports to the Computer Systems Administrator (T04).

Your Role

  • As a Technical Officer, you will play a key role in providing technical support within a special needs school environment. Your primary responsibility will be troubleshooting and supporting a range of technologies, including iPads, Interactive Whiteboards, laptops, and Windows environments.
  • In addition to technical support, you'll provide guidance to staff, offering advice on how to use technology effectively and efficiently in the classroom. You'll be part of a team of 3 who are the go-tos for solving problems, ensuring that both staff and students can make the most of the tools available to them.
  • Our school is currently undergoing significant technological changes, and it would be ideal if the applicant had experience working with external contractors and a solid understanding of departmental policies regarding IT in Education Queensland.


Responsibilities Include

  • Support staff and students with day-to-day IT needs.
  • Provide advice to staff around IT services and practices.
  • Administer devices in Mobile Device Management software.
  • Communicate with staff and contractors regarding projects and upcoming changes.
