Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island; operating 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

Child and Youth Mental Health Service offers a specialised mental health service for families with children and young people (birth to 18 years) who experience severe and complex mental health problems, and where their needs cannot be met by other services.

An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist Senior to join their service on a permanent full-time basis.

Position: Occupational Therapist - Senior

Vacancy: Permanent full-time

Location: – Child and Youth Mental Health Service, Kirwan Health Campus

  • Salary range: $4912.70 to $5286.40 p.f. (HP4)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading

Requirements:
  • For Occupational Therapy the successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy. Registration with the Occupational Therapist Board Australia (AHPRA) is required.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance.
