About the Role:
We are seeking a permanent, full-time (76 hours fortnightly) Project Officer - Communities for Children. An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join a team providing project management services to the Launceston Tamar Valley Communities for Children initiative with the express purpose of building the capacity of the community to support vulnerable children at risk of abuse and neglect and their families.
The successful applicant will:
- identify strategic gaps in service delivery for vulnerable families and use an inclusive community development approach to network and advocate with all stakeholders for better outcomes.
- provide project management services to the Communities for Children initiative including research and assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of a range of defined project work utilising Anglicare’s Project Management Framework.
- promote and represent Anglicare and specific projects to the broader community to maximise project impact and to ensure appropriate and effective services are provided to vulnerable children at risk of abuse and neglect and their families.
- lead and/or participate in meetings of the Communities for Children initiative and related project and community committees, record notes, maintain its documentation and support its administration.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Family Therapy and/or clearly demonstrated extensive experience or understanding in community development knowledge and practice.
- proven high level conceptual, analytical and research skills
- strongly developed knowledge and understanding of community and social issues
- demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work autonomously
- skills and experience in event management
- ability to work energetically, positively and productively

The successful applicant will be required to:
- provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check
- present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- provide a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical:
- provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence.
