About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Claims Recovery Coordinator within our Claims Experience Team, who will be responsible for providing Medical Indemnity Advice, Support, and Claims assistance to our members. Reporting to the Administration Services Manager, you will assist with the statutory recovery process under the Australian Government’s Medical Indemnity Insurance Scheme. You will support the team in managing a portfolio of new and existing claims, ensuring recovery submissions are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing invoices by our panel solicitors, ensuring accuracy and compliance before they are submitted for approval.
As the successful candidate, you will have experience in recoveries, invoice management, and administrative support, and can engage effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties, including solicitors. You will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is comfortable supporting the team in a key administrative function.
Key Responsibilities
Accountability:
- Working with the team to support clearing a portfolio of existing submissions.
- Taking on new Claim recoveries and working through the end-to-end submission process with relevant stakeholders.
- Improving accuracy of submissions to improve submission success rate.
- Receiving and responding to returned submissions and working within required timeframes.
- Supporting the development and updating of reports to track progress and key milestones.
- Identifying opportunities to improve the current process and make recommendations.
- Reviewing and processing invoices from outsourced providers, ensuring the accuracy of charges, rates, and disbursements.
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the Administration Services Manager.

- Leverage external relationships to maximise efficient use of resources and act in the best commercial interest of MIPS.
- Deliver operational processes and business outcome deliverables in line with MIPS risk management and compliance frameworks and relevant regulatory, fraud control, audit and compliance requirements including delivery of internal audit requirements.
About You
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working in a customer or member-based environment.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong MS Excel and MS Powerpoint skills with an ability to generate progress reports.
- Is results focused and motivated by progress of portfolio.
- Demonstrates persistence and tenacity, with the ability to work in a team and autonomously.
- Right to work in Australia.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience working in an APRA regulated environment.
- Experience working in Recoveries or Collections role in either an insurance or related industry.
- Experience working in roles that requires process improvement.
